Let's look at the CBS Sports, Gary Parrish article 'Jerron Love is top 8th grader, says his dad' posted on CBSSports.com soon after the release of the Wall Street Journal publication by Scott Cacciola 'Can't Miss Basketball Prodigy- Just Ask Dad'.

As founder of MSE I'm truly humbled. Thank you for your many blessings. However, let's support all the players so they become prodigy's.

Gary Parrish gives credit to Mr. Cacciola for a great story and then offers this advice, "I would encourage every father of a young basketball player to read it (Can't Miss Basketball Prodigy -Just Ask Dad) because it's a nice guide to how not to handle a boy's amateur career."

I'm not offended nor is something wrong with what Mr. Parrish wrote. He actually touched on an interesting topic.

Mr. Parrish takes excerpts from WSJ , 'Can't Miss Basketball Prodigy- Just Ask Dad'.

"[The website] Middle School Elite celebrates Jerron Love as a 5-foot-7 playmaker and the country's top eighth-grader. His potential? Limitless. Just ask the guy who runs the site—his dad. "I'm the Wizard of Oz, the man behind the curtain," Jerry Love said.

I said, "I'm the Wizard of OZ, the man behind the curtain" jokingly to Scott when we met. But, Clark Francis is the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain.

Mr. Parrish says, "If you didn't catch that, here's the deal: A man named Jerry Love started a website that ranks middle school basketball players, and he's declared his son, Jerron Love, the nation's top-ranked eighth-grade prospect.

You're correct, I ranked my son country's top 8th grader. Do you suppose he's No.50?

"This is ridiculous on lots of levels not the least of which is that his son is a 15-year-old eighth-grader and shorter than me"

You're saying Jerron's older than most 8th graders and has difficulty competing because, he's "shorter" than you (Mr. Parrish).

Size doesn't matter! It's absurd that there's hardly no on-line national representation for grammar school student-athletes.

Mr. Parrish continues "and it'll almost certainly do more harm than good." In other words, "don't train too serious and definitely don't exploit it. Let us do it, if at all."

Mr. Parrish goes further, " Love is now a national name and not for good reasons." We hope, Jerron Love, being a "national name" will inspire others to reach for their goals.

"He'll have incredible pressure on him throughout high school and most likely be a "failure" relative to the expectations his father has placed upon him." "Failure" is an inability to perform. So you can't mean Jerron. Besides I never said Jerron was college basketball or NBA bound.

"And for what? Because the dad wanted to hype his son?" said Mr. Parrish. Instead of the word "hype" I prefer "early exposure" to spare youngsters from showcasing in obscurity.

"Eighth-graders don't need hype. They need parents who love them and teach them and shield them from things like this." I loved them, taught them and shielded them from the nasty politics of some youth scouting and ranking services.

"If the kid's legitimate, we would've all found out in proper time." When exactly is the proper time? We believe legitimacy is "emphasizing skills" as taught by James Naismith, who stood 5'10" 1/2.

"But nobody needed a website started by Jerry Love to tell us Jerron Love is the best from sea to shining sea." I'd have to disagree, speaking for hundreds of thousands of readers following Middle School Elite. I believe we do more good than harm.

"Guess who needed it less than anybody? Jerron Love" Really?? Now our struggle is for players like Demetrius Walker and Andre Allen.

"Make no mistake, I wish the kid luck. You call it "luck", I call it "life".

"But I'm not optimistic, and his father isn't helping. Lastly, thanks Mr. Parrish for your pessimism. I'm pretty sure Jerron would be delighted to play you one-on-one. LoL

New York City Invitational Tournament

Don't forget the NIT is President Day Weekend Feb.18th-20th. Coach Harge of the D1 All-Stars from California says, " I'm bringing my 6th & 7th grade team to the NIT." Coach Harge's son Damon Harge is considered the top player in the nation for the class of 2017.

The Div 1 All-Stars took the Nike Tournament in Portland last Presidents day, but this coming holiday they plan to take the NIT 2011.The competing teams should make it further at AAU Nationals. Stay tuned for the confirmed list of 64 top teams from across the country that will "Battle In The City".

I haven't seen any girls on the site and I think you should do a piece on mei lyn baustista, you can google her name and her video's will pop up. I don't know her personally, only coached against her, She is a rising 8th grader from queens who got skills and knowledge of the game beyond her years for boys and girls. She is also a great student I hear and just handles herself like a senior in high school. Give her some love, she deserves it, very hard worker.

Jervae Robinson, from Denver Colorado is a rising 7th grader ranked #23 overall and #7, as WF at the Adidas Jr.Phenom Camp in California 2010. He's the #1 point guard and #3 overall player in the State of Colorado according to BAC Sports Magazine.

Robinson avoided turnovers and protected the rock. He plays good half-court offense and he's a play maker. He has nice form and arch on his jump shot.

Robinson drained two consecutive 3's from the top of the key. He gave his team a 1 point lead going into the final quarter. He's a floor general.

Trying to see how do you go about doing write-ups on Middle School Ballers and what exposure events do you recommend. My son is Isaiah White, he is in the class of 2017, from Marlton, NJ, attended the Adidas Jr. phenom camp and finished ranked 16th at the 2-guard position, even though he played out of position the entire camp (played forward) led his team in rebounding. He is a rising 6th grader and is one of the top rising 6th grade 2-guards (my opinion) in the south jersey area.

MVP Tony Toplyn Philly Rising 9th

During the All-Star game, AL Rubin from Hoop Scoop sat court side with us at the media table; he saw Tony Toplyn coming from a mile away. Mr. Rubin said, "This kid can go!" At first we thought, maybe, Rubin's jumping the gun.

But, all of a sudden Tony Toplyn went on a spurt with put-backs and rebounds. As Mr. Rubin began to keep mental stats on Toplyn, his domination became apparent. His exhibition earned him MVP honors and top player in the 2014/2015 division.

Tim Delaney Philly Rising 8th

Tim Delaney is a tough player with nice height and size. He uses a drop step in the paint for a post move. He also has a good mid-range jumper. Tim Delaney did his thing at the KO Elite Camp setting in Philly. Now, Delaney shifts focus to his AAU squad, Team Final as they attempt to take the NIT 2011.

Horace Spencer Philly Rising 8th

Horace Spencer, 6'8 rocks with 13U Philly Aztecs, they finished #4 at the D1 AAU nationals in Memphis, TN. He's very athletic, but must get more aggressive. Once Horace bball skills catch up to his height, he'll be an all around player.

Atiba Taylor, AAU team Riverside Hawks defeated Gauchos for the championship title at the Takeover Elite tournament in Jersey City.

Taylor, also won MVP of the Takover Elite All-Star game. Players were selected from some of the leagues participating teams.

Raheim Burnett, RJ Cole & Brandon Anderson Class of 2016: KO Elite Camp Philly 2010

Raheim Burnett

Raheim Burnett did his thing in the All-Star game. He might've been the best defender in his division at camp. Though, Burnett was able to take Adam Perry out a scoring zone, he should of later pressed Joshua Sharkey, who stole the show and won MVP. Burnett is a multidimensional player with good upside.

Robert 'RJ' Cole

Robert RJ Cole plays on the FACES AAU team, and he knows basketball like the back of his hand. He's a smooth point guard with a fundamental game. He passes the rock to hot shooters and handles the pill to take defensive pressure off teammates. Cole plays calm under pressure and still shows good instincts.

Brandon Anderson

Brandon Anderson played his role as a top team player. He kept his head up on fast breaks, looking for teammates to fill the lanes. If Anderson saw a defender loafing, he'd pass the ball quickly up court for easy buckets. We look forward to watching Anderson in more detail at the next KO Elite camp 2011.

David Vasquez was ranked #15 as a Wing Forward for the class of 2017 at the 2010 ADIDAS Jr. Phenom Camp in San Diego, California.

Vasquez thought he'd have had a better ranking as a point guard, his true position; he can't wait until next years camp to show he's a floor general.

He was featured on FOX 12 Oregon Sports Show and is well known in the Northwest for his high basketball IQ & handles.

Chris McNeal, 5'7", a rising 8th grader was ranked #10 overall and #2 in the 2 guard position at the Adidas Jr Phenom National Camp.

It was Chris' first appearance at the the Jr. Phenom, but expect to see him at the Phenom 150! He has a Great Basketball IQ, very unselfish, solid 2 point & 3 point range shooter, nice pull-up off dribble and floater in the paint.

Chris is very physical on both ends of the court and gets to the hole when he wants to. Chris alternated positions playing as the point & the 2 and he played solid in both.

Chris made his invitational camp debut this summer at the Adidas Deep South All-American camp in Baton Rouge, LA July 5-6, 2010, where he was the youngest player in attendance (turned 13 in May, 2010).

He was invited to attend the camp along with the selected 15 & up players of his AAU program-Memphis Magic Elite.

McNeal held his own at the camp with the High School players and definitely belonged. With Chris' attitude, work ethic, and ability to play team ball, he will remain in the top of his class.

Zion Young from Chicago played in the 6th grade division at the Adidas Phenom Camp in California. People told us that in Chi-Town, they call Zion "Young Lebron."

So, we watched his game to find out what exactly gave him such a reputation. Is it the shape of his body or his game dominance like Lebron James?

Young does have a nice frame and out muscled his man for space near the paint. He looks to make strong moves to the basket or pull up for a jump shot in the lane.

However, he dominated physically and mentally. He showed that he's coachable and on top of his game. We can't wait to see Young "Lebron" again at the next Adidas Jr. Phenom Camp 2011.

Daniel Venzant attended the 2010 Adidas Jr. Phenom National Camp in San Diego, CA. This was Daniel's 2nd year at the invite-only camp.

He rank #8 at the Point Guard position, received Sportsmanship award, Hustle award and All Defenses Team award. He also, was selected for the All-Star game. There were over 120 Kids in the Class of 2016, lots of great talent!!!

Venzant plays basketball in Midland, Texas a place known for producing great football players, such as Cedric Benson of the Bengals and Roy Williams of the Cowboys to name a couple.

Rip Engel from Philly is a scrappy point guard who plays exceptional defense. He put up a bloody fight against some of the best offensive players in the nation.

Engel also, has a great skill set. He's very aggressive on both ends of the floor.

We wish his pops, Mr. Engel a speedy recovery. He had a pretty bad bicycle accident. He suffered bruises on his face and lost several teeth.

At the end, Rip proved to be built like his father, tough as nails. Look for him to be at the next KO Elite Camp.

KO Elite Basketball Camp Philly 2010

The KO Elite Basketball Camp was an amazing success. Players from various states, 6th through 11th grade, packed the Competitive Edge Sports complex in King of Prussia, PA.

Tony Sutton, the camps director put on a show, and so did many talented athletes in the gym. Coach Sutton introduced each player like a ring announcer at a boxing match.

The KO Elite Basketball event had a nice camp atmosphere. The bright lights, parents, coaches, media and scouts. For the boy's, they may have played the toughest bball of their life.

Takeover Elite Playoff Games Recap!

Saturday, August 21, 2010: The first game was Fastbreak vs. Long Island Lightning. Fastbreak won the game, 35 to 27. The top scorers were Judah McIntyre (Fastbreak) with 9 points and Marcus Jimenez (LI Lightning) with 8 points. Fastbreak advanced to the semi-finals to play Riverside Hawks at 4:00pm Sunday.

Playtime Panthers were defeated by Natural Ballers, 49 to 47. The top scorers were Justin Kea (Playtime) with 18 points and Keyshawn McMahon (Natural Ballers) with 20 points. The Natural Ballers advanced to the semi-finals to play Gauchos at 5:00pm on Sunday.

Sunday, August 22, 2010: The first game was Fastbreak against Riverside Hawks and it was a great game. They traded baskets for the entire game. The game was tied 37 to 37 with 10 seconds left in the game.

Camren Wynter went baseline on the left-hand side and won the game with a tear drop basket. The top scorers were Jahbril Price (Riverside Hawks) with 12 points and Kevin Greene (Fastbreak) who knocked down (3) 3-point shots and lead his team with 10 points.

The final score was Riverside 39 and Fastbreak 37. In the second game of the semi-finals, Natural Ballers were defeated by Gauchos. The score was 47 to 38. The top scorers were Jalen Lecque (Gauchos) with 14 points and Keyshawn McMahon (Natural Ballers) with 9 points.

Next Saturday, August 28, 2009 at 4:30pm, the championship game will be between Riverside Hawks and Gauchos. This is an ongoing rivalry. This game will be followed by the All-star game which consists of the top 24 kids in the league going head to head.

Tony Goodwin 'Arizona On The Rise' Adidas Phenom Jr. Camp 2010

Tony Goodwin, is a 2G in the class of 2016. He was ranked #16 overall and #2 in the 2nd guard division at the Adidas Phenom Camp. He made the All-Star Team & All-Defense Team.

"Tony matched up with the top offensive 7th graders in the country all weekend," Mr. Goodwin said. Tony is on the rise, he's been to two Adidas national camps in California, 2009 & 2010.

In 2011, young Goodwin should see his hard work and dedication finally pay-off. "I know the only way Bryce & Tony game will go to the next level is in New York," Mr Goodwin said, as he watched Tony on the warm up line.

The Goodwin family, Tony Sr. his wife Kechia and their boys are more than welcome to NYC. Thanks guys for checking out Middle School Elite. We can't wait to see how much Tony advanced his game.

Sedrick Barefield, is a skillful rising 8th grade point guard with lots of game. He rank #5 overall and #3 as a point guard at the Adidas Phenom Camp. He's going to James L. public school in Temecula, California.

For high school Sedrick plans to attend Cornerstone, a Christian private school, where his dad, Mr. Barfield is a physical education/ basketball coach and a psychology teacher.

Coach Barfield says, Cornerstone is under the radar, but with the likeness of his son and a few other student athletes, the school would better compete and receive more exposure.

Barefield has nice size and strength. He knows how to run a team and play half-court offense, but prefers a fast pace game.

He looks to attack the lanes and spin his way to the basket. He handles the rock well and is a great perimeter shooter.

In the closing minutes of the All- Star game, Sedrick Barefield hit 2 consecutive 3's.

"Here is a picture of KJ Farfan at one of the camps. This year he won several awards at all the camps he attended. He won 2 MVP's, 1 Camper of The Week, 2 Hustlers of the week, 1 Best Defensive Player, & 1 All- Around Camper.

He was always placed with the older kids in the camps, starting from 4th grade, some middle school, & even some JV High School kids.

When he was at AAU Nationals in Orlando,FL this year (just watching not playing) he got approached by a lot of Coaches even some Head Coaches from big Universities & they invited KJ to their camps next year.

Many of them had said KJ was too young when we called. They mostly told me, KJ won't be able to attend since he is just 5 yr's old & he needs to be at least 8.

So the Head Coaches & some Asst. Coaches that invited him, said they would take care of that. He would be an exception.

Just to name a few (Kansas State, FSU, Alabama, Kentucky, Louisville, FIU). KJ is looking forward to starting Kindergarten Monday 8/23/2010.

He cant wait till next year. It will be a lot of fun KJ said to be at one of your camps. Until then he will be playing in local leagues & cont to work hard in school & on the courts.

Loseni Kamara: Midde School Elite Is His Home

Loseni is making his own history by using basketball to change his life at the very young age of 11 years old.

He's a native of Africa, who now resides in Queens, New York. His road to success has not been an easy one. Loseni along with his family have face many difficulties, while living in one of New York City homeless shelters.

However, he is using his basketball talent and ability to make changes for his family and himself. "I know I’m good in basketball, but I know in order to help my family, I have to work hard in school and let basketball open doors for me," Loseni said.

Standing at 5'10" he's a force to be reckon with on the basketball court and is currently rank #1, 5th grader in New York City.

He made his national appearance at the 2010 5th grade D2 AAU National Tournament in CoCoa Beach Florida in July.

Loseni has led the Hollis All-Star/ 5th grade team to the 2010 D2 AAU National Classic Championship and four NYC championships.

He has received four MVP honors and is burning up the basketball camp scene so far this summer, playing in advanced age groups. He was elevated to the higher level due to his domination in his class.

Loseni, is a very special player because of his thirst for acquiring knowledge of the game and his willingness to work hard on his own to help improve his game.

His self-motivation is rare for his age. The camps Loseni has been invited are: LuHi, Five Star Sixer camp and NYC Nike Camp.

Loseni’s coach and mentor Donald Francois, feels that Loseni has a bright future in basketball and in life.

Hello, Middle School Elite. We are very pleased with your website and would like to add our story. We are the "Texas Celtics Select" based out of Dallas,TX.

We finished the year 49-4 in route to the 2010 D1 AAU 11U National Championship game!

Beating teams like Illinois Crush, DC Assault, Louisiana Jaguars, Vegas Rebels, Indians Elite, Atlanta Celtics and Tulsa Bulldogs to set up a match between the tourney's only two undefeated teams, Texas Celtics Select vs Indy Hoosiers.

The game went down to the wire but Indy pulled it out in the end. The "Texas Celtics Select" finished ranked #2 in the country and all its players and coaches still felt great for the many accomplishments they achieved throughout the year!

Jordan Simmons, who turned 10 years old in May was ranked #19 at the Adidas Phenom camp. He's entering the 5th grade at St. Paul Lutheran Catholic School in Illinois, Chicago.

Simmons played up in the 6th graders and put in serious work. He performed well on the big stage and was ranked #8 as a top point guard division.

Simmons controlled the tempo of the game. He rotated the rock, shifted the defense and created space for his teammates to take open shots.

Delaware Middle School Basketball Explosion!

This exclusive just in from Delaware: The 2nd Annual Delaware Middle School Basketball Explosion hosted by Delaware Royalty took place this past Friday, August the 13th.

The top middle school players in Delaware were in attendance, and the "stars" shined bright. A few names you may recognize: Tavon White (Rebels), Mikey Dixon (Rebels), Marcus Floyd (Philly Aztecs), Antwon Peace (DFS).

The game was filled with "CHAMPIONSHIP" level intensity and array of skills were displayed for a delighted crowd.

The first half was filled with back and forth action led by Seiquann Kearney (Rebels), Tavon White (Rebels), Marcus Floyd (Philly Aztecs), Antwon Peace (DFS), and Elliott Outten (Tobacco Free).

In the 2nd half, Team 1 pulled away due to a crafty substitution change by the head coach.

Game M.O.P's went to Team 1's Seiquann "I GOT IT" Kearney (Rebels) 21pts 11rbs and to Team 2's Antwon "REAL DEAL" Peace (DFS) who also had 21pts.

Bryce Goodwin, ranked #18 in the top second guard division at Adidas Phenom camp. Goodwin Struggled Friday and Sunday, but Saturday he had his best performances.

Young Bryce, is just 10 years old and entering the 4th grade on August 16th to May 25th, 2011. Goodwin has a nice build and looks to drive strong to the basket.

He played up with 6th graders and fit perfectly. Bryce Goodwin's goal is to become the #1 point guard for class of 2019 in the country.

Adidas Phenom held the best national exposure event for the East coast & West coast. It took place at the Alliant International University in San Diego, California August 5th-8th, 2010.

Over 350 campers gathered to play competitive ball and have fun. Adidas Phenom featured players from across the country in classes 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017.

Adidas Phenom, also had great coaching staff on hand to help fun-da-mentally prepare kids for high school and college. It was definitely a phenom experience.

Coaches emphasized defense, teamwork and playing organized basketball within a camp setting. This allowed players to get their shot off and at the same time "play the right way."

Adidas Phenom camp was so successful that they've added a 5th and 10th grade division. Adidas Jr. Phenom 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th and Adidas 150 Phenom 9th & 10th grade.

Jordan Montgomery, a 4'9 point guard form California is one of the best upcoming Middle School Elite players in the nation. He's 9 years old and entering the 4th grade at Oak Meadows Elementary.

Jordan started playing organized ball at 4 years old. At age 6, a video of him dribbling was loaded onto you-tube and to date has received over 500,000 views.

He plays for three SoCal travel teams: Blue Crush,Triple Threat and FD1. He also, trained with former New Orleans Hornets NBA coach, Dave Miller.

Montgomery has a lot of strengths, he can go left or right and use his skill and speed to go around players. He has great court vision, high basketball IQ and he's a good shooter.

Jordan is being taught by his older brother Kyle Montgomery 6' 7", who was an excellent high school baller. He's currently a junior at San Diego State University.

Kyle is planning to walk on this year and attend medical school upon graduation. Jordan Montgomery is a 4.0 student with crazy game!

Caleb Tregre, a point guard from Cincinnati, Ohio has a nice feel for the game. He made the necessary passes to get his teammates involved.

Tregre impressed us the most with his man-to-man defense. He was on the same roster as Austin Grandstaff, who's one of the top players in the country for the class of 2015.

Austin Grandstaff was ranked #1 at the adidas Phenom National Camp in San Diego California 2010. Caleb Tregre AAU team is the Elite Cavlaliers.

Hard work beats talent if the talent fails to work hard. He is a 6th grader going into the 7th grade. He has spent the summer playing High School JV as a 6th grader scoring 30 points in his last game.

Damon Harge and Isaiah Holmes lit up the adidas Phenom camp. As games went on around us, we heard a crowd roar from a distance. We followed the noise to a court, where Damon was firing shots. As we approached, someone said "you must be a proud father," to Mr. Harge.

Isaiah exchanged rounds, while still trying to run his team. But, Damon aka "50" kept blazing from beyond the 3-point line. Holmes is an excellent floor general with a pass first mentality. He scored 30 points and made several assist for the win. Both players are on top of their game.

The New Allonzo Trier Is Something Special

Allonzo Trier aka "Zo" the 6ft point guard from Texas is absolutely phenomenal. He's a unique and rare discovery in today's youth basketball world.

He's an extremely talented and skilled athlete. He has a great size and strength advantage over most players.

His outstanding play in the All-Star competition earned him the #2 spot at camp and MVP honors for scoring a game-high of 19 points.

He used an assortment of moves to penetrate the lanes and his body to finish in traffic. When the defense collapsed, he drained jump shots with correct technique.

In our prediction, Allonzo Trier will be the top player in the graduating class of 2015 for the next coming years.

Playtime Basketball

As his highlights show, Jaheim Tanksley is one of the top third grade point guards in the country. Wait until Clark Francis at Hoop Scoop and Joe Keller from Adidas Phenom get a load of him.

To get an up close and personal view of Tanksley, make a ride to Jersey City where he will be playing in the Takeover League, which features some of the best local 10 and under squads.

The league is being run by Playtime coach Zegary Scott. The two-time New Jersey state champions are scheduled to be in the month-long tournament, which will be played at 323 Johnson Avenue.

Other squads in the talent-rich field include New York heavyweights Riverside Hawks, the Gauchos, Long Island Lightning, Milbank and Fastbreak basketball and the Garden State will be represented by the Natural Ballers and PWC from Paterson.

The Hoop Scoop have people wondering, whether Chase Adams is really that good. As a rising 5th grader, Adams was ranked #3 in the 6th grade division. Adams hope to prove that he's just as talented as his older peers and perhaps even better.

He looks to shake defenders and finish with a step back jump shot. Chase Adams plays with style and finesse, while making the game appear easy. His team Chicago Ferrari came in 4th place at the AAU nationals.

Jaylin Fleming is a gifted player from Chi-Town. Fleming has the total package. He can shoot, pass, dribble and defend. Some of his dominating factors are strength and speed. Fleming is the best rising 6th grader that we've seen this year.

Damon Harge California

We see why Damon Harge was ranked #1 at the adidas camp. He used a vicious 1-2 dribble pull up to score a 50 point game. The accuracy of his quick release is something amazing. In the All-Star game he passed the ball instead and got his teammates involved.

Tyson Etienne New Jersey

Tyson Etienne is 10 years old, he skipped the 2nd grade of school. He's a student-athlete who plays smart on-and-off-the court. Etienne experienced difficulty adjusting on day 1, but he eventually stepped up his game.

Chris Giles Texas

Chris Giles was ranked #8 at camp. The strong forward plays the game the right way. He's able to absorb contact and finish in the lane. His travel team 'Texas Celtics Selects' finished 2nd place at the AAU nationals.

Austin Grandstaff, the 6-foot-3, rising 8th grader from Dallas Texas is a tough son-of-gun. He dominated the paint, as a big man and looked to control the back court, as a point guard.

Grandstaff, who's a versatile player deserved top honors, because of his size and skill set. Also, his ability to consistently knock down the trey ball and handle the pill to find open teammates for easy buckets. He has good athleticism with a nice upside.

Adidas Jr Phenom Camp!

The adidas Jr. Phenom camp was the Biggest and Best basketball camp thus far. We had the chance to watch 375 campers compete, while playing a fundamental game. In 2011, expect for the numbers to rise.

We decided to rank the coaches and gave it to Jeff Harper, who's the basketball director at adidas Phenom. Coach Harper reminds us of a young Bob Hurley, he has a firm approach and never fails to give you solid advice.

As far as player rankings, we respectively leave that up to, none other than, Clark Francis of Hoop Scoop. Joe Keller, his family and staff did a tremendous job training, disciplining and managing hundreds of kids.

Deondre Bourne is a rising 7th grader from Brooklyn, NY. As a point guard, he actually "takes his time now and has more patients," said Mr.Bourne. "He takes better shot selections and gets to the basket easier by using more head fakes, jab steps and a variety of moves."

Young Bourne has a good drive and dish game. He attacks the basket hard and then kicks it to the open man, which makes his passing game crazy. Bourne plays aggressive man-to-man defense, but has learned that 9 out of 10 times he'll have to help out. Bourne understands the team concept and has a very high basketball IQ.

Mr.Bourne says, Deondre gets frustrated when other kids are not on the same page as him. "I always tell him to calm down and relax because every kid doesn't practice 2hrs a day and doesn't always watch basketball on TV or You-Tube like he do."

All in all, Deondre Bourne who's a gemini is a hard working and very athletic NYC point guard.

After school on a recent afternoon, Alonzo Trier, a sixth grader in Federal Way, outside Seattle, came home and quickly changed into his workout gear — Nike high-tops, baggy basketball shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt that hung loosely on his 5-foot-5, 110-pound frame. Inside a small gymnasium near the entrance of his apartment complex, he got right to his practice routine, one he has maintained for the last four years, seven days a week. He began by dribbling a basketball around the perimeter of the court, weaving it around his back and through his legs. As the highlights above show, Jaheim Tanksley is one of the top third grade point guards in the country.

To get an up close and personal view of Tanksley, make a ride to Jersey City where he will be playing in the Takeover League, which features some of the best local 10 and under squads.

The league is being run by Playtime coach Zegary Scott. The two-time New Jersey state champions are scheduled to be in the month-long tournament, which will be played at 323 Johnson Avenue.

Other squads in the talent-rich field include New York heavyweights Riverside Hawks, the Gauchos, Long Island Lightning, Milbank and Fastbreak Basketball and the Garden State will be represented by the Natural Ballers and Team PWC from Paterson.

Dean Street was rained out, therefor games proceeded indoors at a school gym. A crowd of spectators packed the bleachers, while others stood around and played the wall. We got up with coach Brown of the Juice All-Star team from Starrett City, Brooklyn. He's also assistant coach at Lincoln high School.

Coach Damon Lawrence-Brother Melo

Damon Lawrence and Karl Sanders are co-founders and directors of the Brother Melo basketball program in Brooklyn, New York. Damon is a former youth coach at New Heights and Karl is head coach at Grady High School in Brooklyn. The program operates from Fort Green community center.

Brother Melo is akin to Team Melo in Baltimore, but somehow they receive less funding. Both programs are sponsored by Carmelo Anthony who is a former Baltimore resident and now apart of the Denver Nuggets team. Coach Lawrence says, " Carmelo was born in Red Hook and moved at age nine". So, technically Carmelo Anthony is a NYC native.

Coach Lawrence says, "We're really pushing our Literacy Art Program." He encourages kids and even adults to visit the library or read a book at home. "We focus on enabling individuals to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge and potential, and to participate fully in their community and wider society," said Coach Lawrence.

Brother Melo is currently running a competitive tournament in Brooklyn. They also have fundraisers to help cover their program expenses. Although, coach Lawrence agrees with exposure, he opposes middle school rankings. However, we think they're going to be real big in 2011. The Hollis All-Stars won the classic bracket in Cocoa Beach, Florida with only six players."The victory was important because I've been trying to get this 5th grade team together for almost two years with no financial support," said coach Donald Francois. "A lot of parents didn't believe in me."

Coach Francois mission is to better player's lives through better education. He says, "I consistently monitor their report cards and always preach that basketball means nothing without good grades." All he wants is for them to graduate college.

On September 12th in Columbus, Ohio, Buckeye Prep will be holding their second elite showcase of the year. At session #1, more than 200 elite players (6th-9th grade) from across the region participated in the 1-day showcase. The September event will host rising 6th-10th graders. Despite the camp's focus on development, attention was being paid to the players who stood out and separated themselves during the event. Although I had to get back to the Nike event, I did inquire from the scouts and other observers who the top performers were. From what I heard, Lima's Tyler Ulis, arguably Ohio's top 8th grader, represented the Buckeye State well. According to Clay Dade, founder of the Jr. All-American Camp, Ulis' advanced game was on full display, as he showed an impressive skill package, poise beyond his years, and a high basketball IQ. KJ Farfan is an amazing 5 year old, his videos speak for itself. Jimmy, who is KJ's dad says his son "sleeps with a basketball". KJ's parents believe that "he loves basketball too much". In September, KJ is going to Calusa Prep Kindergarten in Miami, Florida. He has already received a $8,000 full paid tuition for 1st grade next year. "The books cost $500 alone," said Jimmy.

Jimmy enjoys basketball just as much as KJ. His wife, Alexandria, seems even more passionate about the sport. On Halloween, Jimmy asked KJ did he want to go trick-or-treating. KJ opted to perfect his jump shot at the local YMCA. We gave KJ a future invitation to the Adidas Jr Phenom camp and he told us, "thank you". Now, the Farfan's can't wait to get on the road for more Middle School Elite exposure.

Daruis Chester is 12 years old and in the graduating class of 2016. As a rising 7th grader, he'll be attending Allen Christian Middle School in Queens, New York. Darius father Darrin says, "I consider my son under the radar". In regards to The Jim Couch Foundation and Middle School Elite Showcase taking place this Sunday, Darrin said his "son is extremely excited to be a part of the event."

This past season Darius school went undefeated to win the 6th grade New York Scholastic Athletics Association ( N.Y.S.A.A) Junior Varsity basketball championship and he was the game MVP. He had game high with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 5 assist and 2 blocks. Darrin says Darius has "good coaches that help take his game to a higher level". Daruis Chester is a student athlete who's on top of his game.

Billy Clark is one of our favorite young 2015 players from Brooklyn, New York. He's a rising 8th grade point guard with nice swagger; on-and-off the court. He's mentally tough and has the inner-city attitude. This is great for us, since we try to always give you the real. Clark has hit up the Adidas Jr Phenom National Camp in California, numerous Hoop Group events and most recently the Fab 48 tournament with Team Underrated 13U in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bill Sr. says "Bill just pulled out a tough 58-54 win over a Oakland Bay Shore team. He played okay, but missed too many lay ups". "Against 'Utah Pump-N-Go' 53-23, Billy had so many assist that I lost count," he continued. Overall, The Kid was "phenomenal on his passing and running a team". We've been following Clark for several years and he's on top of his game. We must add, he has good court vision and he can shoot the trey ball.

Wayne White, Jr. class 2016 is a rising star out of Huntington, NY. He currently attends Elwood Middle School and is excited about playing for his new AAU team: Team Elite. He is a natural born athlete standing at 5’7". No matter what team he has ever played for, all coaches say he’s very coachable and a hard worker. Wayne can play any position on the court, but says he feels best at the small forward position. The strongest part of White's game is defense. Coaches usually put him on the best scorer because of his ability to lock in on opponents like a laser.

White constantly stays on the grind, working to improve his game. White has created his own drill routine that he does alone for 2 hours a day. In addition to working out with great conditioning and technique training coaches. He has a great ability to see the whole floor and uses his skill of anticipation to create turnovers. In 2009, Hoop Group wrote "Wayne is definitely a kid to watch out for in the future".

Wayne also thrives academically. He consistently holds a B+ average and has made the Honor Roll. His favorite subject is Science, specifically Meteorology. “I strive to be the best, because I know with Christ I can do all things,” said Wayne White Jr. White says one of his goals is to someday be an Academic All-American Athlete. Wayne White will be attending the Addidas Jr Phenom Camp in San Diego August 2010.

Floaters in the lane, off-balanced leaners, long jumpers and tough drives through traffic: TeamRameybasketball.com guard Courtney Ramey had the entire arsenal on display at the 2010 AAU 10U National Tournament in Detroit last week.

The best teams from around the country tried to slow him down and none of them had success against Ramey as he averaged 23.7 points per game while leading the boys from St. Louis to the tournament championship.

His 41-point explosion against the Arkansas Hawks was the best performance by a basketball player in Michigan since the Bad Boy era.

Adam Perry is a student at West Hampton middle school in New Jersey. His goals are to play basketball at the highest level and maintain excellent grades. The bigger the stage, the better 10-year-old Jalen Brooks performed. The 4-9, 80-pound shooting guard for the Playtime Panthers (Hackensack, N.J.) was named the MVP of the Best of the Best Tournament in Springfield, Mass. during Memorial Day weekend after scoring a championship game-high 26 points against the Long Island Lightning.

Other highlights for Brooks include scoring a game-best 16 to help Playtime knock off the Natural Ballers in the New Jersey state final; he posted 27 points against the Shoreshots in the championship of the Goats Tournament (11U) and fired in 22 points as Playtime wrapped up the 11-and-under division at the Central Jersey Cardinals Tournament.

Brooks, a lefty who uses his speed to attack the basket and an adept touch to finish once he gets there, took home MVP honors again two weeks ago, this time while playing for the Natural Ballers at the Junior National Invitational in Springfield. He strung together a four-game run where he posted 20, 17, 19 and 23 points as the first-year program defeated the Connecticut Basketball Club for the crown

He wrapped up his AAU season last week by scoring 20 points for Playtime in an elimination-game loss against the Kansas City PAL at the Division 1 10U National Championships in Detroit.

Brooks, who also excels in football, averaged 15 points and four steals per game this season.

Religion and Politics isn't too popular in today's Government, but God is the right mix for the Texas Titans program. "The kids need more than just basketball", said coach Scott. "Everything we do is centered around the creator". As God uses coach Scott to preach the good news, in return he's given the strength to deliver wins. He also has the experience that plays apart. He has coached NCAA division 1 and high school teams. In 1983-85, he was assistant men's basketball coach at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. In 1985-86, coach Scott took Auburndale high school to their first state finals in 30 years. All of this was done with permission from God.

Texas Titans 2015 has captured two consecutive AAU division 1 national titles. We definitely see God at work in mankind. "I love your site", said coach Scott. "We saw a lot of familiar faces". Mickey Mitchell is a Texas Titans player featured on Middle School Elite. Mitchell is ranked #8 in the nation, according to Hoop Scoop. Coach Scott says, "we have superb trainers and physical therapist." He has specialist on hand for rehabilitation and prevention of sports related injures. Coach Scott Pospichal is on top of his game. Ketaan Wyatt Jr. aka KeeWee is 8 years old and resides in Toledo, Ohio. He's a rising 3rd grader at Martin Luther King Academy for boys. KeeWee is a straight 'A' student. He was invited to play for the 9U All Ohio Red AAU Team coached by Alonzo Motley. He's been invited to college basketball camps, including most recently the Tennessee Volunteers.

KeeWee was the Ball Boy for the Toledo High School boys varsity team. His favorite players are Allen Iverson, Lebron James, Chris Paul, John Wall and Brandon Jennings. Boy, can this kid go! Jackson Davis is a 6'8 athletic forward from Louisville, Kentucky. The southernmost northern city in the United States. He's a rising 9th grader at a 4A school, Lafeyette High. "A 4A school means there are a lot of students", said his father Jonathon. Davis is a dance major and a honor student in the performance art program. No wonder he has light feet running the court. Speaking of bball, Leigh Klien of the 5 Star Camp brought his teachings to Davis hometown. The camp had kids from 8 states and overseas. Davis earned the 'Most Promising Prospect' award. He even runs a mile in 5:30. " The last time I did that was a Jr at the University of Kentucky", said Mr. Davis.

Coach Kerreim Memminger is at the Adidas Super 64 in Los Vegas and has Davis on his 16U Shooting Stars team. Davis headed to Vegas, the day after 5 Star concluded in Lousiville. Though it's two events within a ten day span, Jonathan says " its one long trip". Jackson's grandfather, John Davis, played for Chicago Bulls in the late 60's. His cousin, Arnett Moltrie, is a 6'11 center at the University of Texas El Paso. He's projected to be a first round draft pick next year. Davis who is on top of his game was a top 20 All-Star at the Fab Frosh camp. Davis was also at the Adidas 'It takes 5' 16U tournament in Charlotte. If Davis continues to persevere, John Lucas predicts that he'll be a "one and done".

Kevin Driscoll, director of Hoop Group Skills Camp is spending the summer of 2010 in the Poconos running the prestigious Hoop Group Skills Camp @ Pocono Invitational. This camp has been running 48 years and has been a training ground for thousands of college as well as professional basketball players. Devin Newton Will Not Lose!

Devin Newton Junior All-American

Devin Newton resides in Inglewood, California. He's a 12 year old rising 7th grader. Newton attends Frank D. Parent Middle School, where he excels off-and-on the court. Devin Newton is ranked #7 in the nation for the graduating class of 2016, according to Hoop Scoop. He also has a 4.0 Grade Point Average. In 2009, he was the top 6th grader at the Jr All-American camp. Devin has two trainers Harold Jones and Brent Summers. "We do speed training" said Summers from Rim2Rim Elite Training Academy. "Devin is fast and explosive", added Jones. Harold used to play against Paul Peirce at the summer college leagues in L.A and was the assistant marketer for And1.

We had the chance to see Devin play, he scores with ease and makes the extra pass to the open man. He has a never give up attitude. Devin's mother Demetra is 6'1 and his father Duane is 6'3. Newton's a serious player and he's on top of his game. He works out extra hard just to escape the harsh reality of his older brothers death. DeShawn, collapsed and died while playing at a tournament in Texas. Duane says Devin has "probably been through more than any kid in the last two years". The truth is that the pain of losing DeShawn will never go away.

Team Texas AAU Division 1 Contenders

Austin Grandstaff Team Texas

Team Texas (TT) and Austin Grandstaff are at it again! Except this time, Grandstaff is playing on TT 14U in Orlando, Florida. Last week, TT went 6-2 and placed 11th at the 13U AAU nationals in Memphis, TN. Wes Grandstaff is director and coach of the Texas program. Wes is also Austin's dad.

Grandstaff is ranked 4th in the nation for the class of 2015, according to Clark Francis at Hoop Scoop. He's a skillful athlete with heart and good size. "Austin gets better when he plays against older and stronger kids", said Wes. Stay tuned for more of Austin Grandstaff on Middle School Elite.

Austin Tilghman 6'1 Point Guard

Youth Interlock (YI) are from Pennsylvania, the Key Stone state. They're putting in serious work at the 14U AAU division 1 national tournament in Orlando, Florida. Coach Shep told us, "I knew we were ready for the nationals", once his youngsters won the Maryland Invitational Tournament.

Youth Interlock is a competitive bunch, they should rank well amongst the top teams in the nation. YI beat MABC and Jersey Magic to go 2-0. Panthers Select AAU Division 2 Contenders

Coach Will of the Panthers Select 2014 flew from Texas to Orlando, Florida to take it all. They have a nice back court in Nicholas Thomas and Tyus Momoh, a crafty point guard. Thomas was a top 20 player at the Adidas Phenom 150, while Ajon Efferson and Alex Robinson won co-MVP. Look for Nicholas Thomas at the KO Basketball camp in Philly. Kobe Gantz Back2Basics

Kobe Gantz is a 12 year old, rising 7th grader. He's 5'3 and a point/shooting guard in the class of 2016. Gantz attends Lincoln Middle School where he's a honor student. Kobe's father Boobie is head coach of his sons team' Back2Basic' in Lancaster, Pa. The four day sleep away 'Hoop Group Camp' for Gantz in the Pocono's ends July 15th, but the next day he leaves for 12U AAU Nationals in Hampton, Virgina. Gantz is hitting the road with the Central Penn Ballers. Their first game is against Georgia Stars, the runner-up in last years tournament.

We spoke with Gantz dad, Boobie and he says, "Kobe has a great desire to be the best basketball player in the country". "Hopefully we can get him into some other camps this summer", Boobie added. If Kobe becomes as talented as the player he's named after, we may see him in the N.B.A. Kobe's a bright kid who's well spoken and knows what he wants in life. Juice All-Stars 12U FunSport Championship

Selassie Tyler Bourne is his name and New York is his game. The youngster is from Brooklyn and plays tough for an inner-city kid. His ball handle grabbed our attention; he will try to put it on you. How do we know he's good? We watched how defenders reacted to his dribble, they sought to contain him immediately. Therefor he's going to be nice in the future, period. His father, Mr. Bourne is coach for the 12U Juice All-Stars team sponsored by Under Armor. Tyler is entering the 6th grade at the Joseph B. Cavollaro I.S.281 in Bensonhurst Brooklyn.

Bourne is a smart player and an inquisitive person. He's keen of his surroundings. On-and-off the court he's a survivor and on top of his game. Joel Berry and Kejuan Johnson Peach Jam Tournament

Middle School Elite regional scouts are live at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina. Remember, we're the only 'national youth' website in existence. Before we'd let Joel Berry out the bag, not too many people knew of him on a national level. Berry's made a name for himself, as the top rising 9th grader in the country. Very soon, you'll hear Berry's name mentioned by scouts who tend to follow our lead.

As we reported earlier, Johnson and Berry are playing with 16U 'Each One Teach One', coached by Reggie. E1T1 is sponsored by Amare Stoudemire, a NBA player who recently signed with the New York Knicks. Well, Kejuan Johnson went straight to work at the 3 position and caught four pretty dunks in one game. The highlight of the day is when Johnson slammed it on Jarnell Stokes a 6'8 muscular forward from Memphis, TN. Stokes plays for Memphis YOMCA and he's ranked #7 for the class of 2012, according to Rivals.com. Johnson finished that game with 15 points. Impressive for a 13 year old.

Joel Berry did his thing; nevertheless, he started off a little sluggish. He didn't catch a dunk, but he made several assist to demonstrate his passing skills. We observed Berry applying excellent defense as well. He averaged 10 points a game playing up with athletes 17 years old and younger. " I adjust easy and tomorrow I'll have a better game", said Joel Berry on his way to the locker room. It's going down in Georgia and Middle School Elite is in effect. The Knicks missed out on King James, but they still have a shot at Lil' LeBron. And he's right in their own backyard. Shawn Jones, a 15-year-old Bronx hoops sensation, is quickly making a name for himself playing against adults in city tournaments. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound point guard has a room full of trophies and even scored 62 points in one game against his peers. Coaches and his mom are already calling him Lil' LeBron."He's like the next LeBron. He's a beast!" said coach Mike Barry. "He's got natural attributes that you can't teach. He's a phenom -- like a lil' junior LeBron. He's the real deal." Shawn will start on the varsity team this fall at St. Raymond High School for Boys in the Bronx after earning a full scholarship. His mom, Roxanne Jones, 48, said her son has been bouncing a ball around the house since he was 6. "He loves the game. He has a passion for it," she said.
